Attraction: Lucy the Elephant

Lucy is the world’s largest elephant and the only one in America designated as a National Historic Landmark.

Lucy was built in 1881 by James V. Lafferty. The elephant is six stories tall, weight 90 tons, covered with 12,000 square feet of sheet tin.

For a small admission fee you can climb on the back via a spiral staircase in one of her hind legs. From here you have a nice view on the Atlantic Ocean.
