Attraction: Perry’s Nut House

Unfortunately it was closed when we arrived. So we only could take pictures of the various animals sculptures on the outside. The Rocket-Bear on rollerblades, the huge Hot Dog-Bear and the giant squirrel holding a peanut.

“Historic nut and animal exhibits,” trumpeted the tourist literature for Perry’s Tropical Nut House in Belfast. “Visited and exclaimed over by thousands.”

Located : 45 Searsport Avenue, Belfast, Maine

Directions : US 1 and Arcadian Highway. Less than a mile north of the bridge on Route 1.
