Just like it predecessors, the new Passat Variant is bound to become one of the most popular company cars. Abt Sportsline, one of the world-wide leading VW tuners, has developed a sporty package for Volkswagen’s new VW estate car and is presenting the Abt Passat Variant VS4 as world premiere at the IAA 2005 in Frankfurt.
Abt Sportsline stands for high-quality and reliable tuning tailor-made for customers’ requirements. The new Abt Passat Variant VS4 impressively demonstrates this. Volkswagen’s latest estate car is equipped with discreet aerodynamic Abt parts. A shapely front spoiler skilfully gives the Abt Passat Variant VS4 a marked face. On the rear a unobstrusive but effective rear spoiler ensures more downforce on the rear axis and gives it the individual touch. The two-pipe rear muffler with a diameter of 76 millimetres which also acoustically attracts attention is a real eye catcher. Though Abt Sportsline’s aerodynamic parts show their unmistakeable origin, they highlight the sporty and elegant design of the standard model.
Especially the inner values of the Abt Passat Variant VS4 will convince potential buyers. The Abt engineers developed various power upgrades via modification of the motor management. Due to re-setting data such as injected fuel quantity, ignition point and lots more, a plus in power of 30 HP was gained in the 2.0 TDI Abt Passat Variant VS4. Hence, this model with diesel particulate filter (DPF) performs 170 HP and disposes over a maximum torque of 365 Nm. The estate car handles the sprint from 0 – 100 km/h in just 9.1 seconds and reaches an impressive top speed of 214 km/h. A specific advantage with Abt Sportsline is the fact that all power upgrades are covered by the Abt Sportsline guarantee of up to 100,000 km within the conditions and limitations of the standard manufacturer’s warranty. The Bavarians focus on quality and not increased efficiency at any cost.
Special suspension springs were developed to transfer the increased power onto the roads effectively. The springs ensure noticeably improved roadability and handling of the estate car. Especially long rides in the Abt Passat Variant VS4 mean sheer driving pleasure. Moreover, due to lowering the body by 40 millimetres the vehicle looks considerably sportier.
The Abt Passat Variant VS4 is equipped with tyres of technology partner Dunlop in the dimension 235/35 which are fitted on the new Abt light alloy wheels AR. The one-piece diamond-machined wheels which also enjoy their world premiere at the IAA 2005 are designed in the classical modern five-spoke concept and fitted in the dimension 8.5x19 inch.
The world premiere of the new Abt Passat Variant VS4 at the IAA 2005 in Frankfurt proves that Abt Sportsline rightly is one of the world-wide leading Volkswagen tuners.
