At the beginning of the year, the Citroën C8 Luxury Pack adopted a new 6-speed manual gearbox with the 2.2 HDi 16V engine.
Based on the 5-speed gearbox and already available with the C5, this upgrade enhances the driveability of the C8 HDi 130 DPFS, particularly on fast stretches of road and motorways.
The gear ratios are unchanged on the first four gears. The fifth gear is shorter (43.28 km/h instead of 46.08 at 1,000 rpm)* and the sixth gear develops 52.40 km/h* at 1,000 rpm. These new gear ratios offer increased acoustic comfort over journeys at a steady speed.
In addition to acoustic comfort, the adapted features of this new gearbox reduce combined cycle consumption by 0.1 l/100 km a to 0.4 l / 100 km in the city, thus also cutting CO 2 emissions.
In terms of environmental performance, the C8 HDi is equipped with the DPFS (diesel particulate filter system), which traps and then burns the particles. The new upgraded filter requires servicing only every 120,000 km compared with 80,000 km previously.
As the DPFS becomes more widely available, diesel engines will continue to increase their market share. They will thus make a greater contribution to efforts to limit the greenhouse effect, a major challenge for sustainable development.
