Mitsubishi Motors Corporation announced that its Australian subsidiary Mitsubishi Motors Australia Ltd (MMAL) has launched the new Mitsubishi 380, a sporty and powerful large sedan. The 380 was developed to offer the highest levels of quality and performance, and is built at the MMAL factory in Adelaide.
The 380 is the first new built-in-Australia model in nine years and Mitsubishi Motors has high expectations that the 380 will contribute to achieve the 2005 Business Plan goals. MMAL plans to sell 3,000 of the new 380 model each month.
Development of the 380 was focused on meeting five customer requirements: true large car power and performance, sporty styling, outstanding value for money, comfortable large car space and world-class quality, and refinement.
380 is powered by a 3.8-liter SOHC MPI V6 engine that develops a maximum power of 175 kW and a maximum torque of 343 Nm and is mated to Mitsubishi's INVECS-II Sport Mode 5-speed automatic transmission, a 5-speed manual transmission is also available for enthusiasts. Derived from the North American Galant, built and sold by Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. since 2003, 380 delivers Euro3 compliant environmental performance and has been tailored to Australian market needs that including
massive overall leg room.
